Homeowners invited to explore solar energy

Sept. 21, 2008

KALAMAZOO--Explore the most cost-effective and hassle-free way to put solar power to work for you at a free seminar from noon to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, at Western Michigan University's Parkview Campus.

"Go Solar Kalamazoo" will be held in Room D-208 at the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences. The program is part of an effort to bring home and business owners in the Kalamazoo area together to make a collaborative purchase of solar electric and/or solar hot water systems.

Solar contractor Mark Bauer of Bauer Power will explain the costs and benefits of purchasing a renewable energy system. Staff from the Great Lakes Renewable Energy Association will discuss how to benefit from price reductions and standardized plans through the association-sponsored program.
