Get 'In the Mood' at Miller

Oct. 6, 2008

KALAMAZOO--The 1940s musical revue "In the Mood" will swing into Western Michigan University's Miller Auditorium at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 19.

"In the Mood" features the String Of Pearls singers and dancers with a sensational big band orchestra. The music and the arrangements are as authentic as it gets, taking a retro look into a time in our nation's history when everyone was listening and dancing to the same music. The combination of up-tempo big band instrumentals and intimate, romantic ballads set the mood for a future filled with promise, hope and prosperity, and did much to sustain national morale during World War II, the most pivotal event of that time.

Bud Forrest Entertainment began touring "In the Mood" in 1994 following an overwhelming response from a performance on the steps of the National Archives in Washington, D.C. For the 15th year, the show continues to impact audiences with sold-out performances. "In the Mood" has performed and toured all over the United States, Canada and Europe, and through its musical influence, became part of the official entertainment for the World United Service Organizations' 50th commemoration of World War II events.

"In the Mood" at Miller Auditorium is part of the Lake Michigan Mailers Spotlight Series and is sponsored by Coca-Cola. Tickets are on sale now and range from $15 to $35. They are available by calling (269) 387-2300 or (800) 228-9858, online at millerauditorium.com, or by visiting the Miller Auditorium Ticket Office or Epic Center Box Office in downtown Kalamazoo. Groups of 20 or more should call (269) 387-2312 for special discounts.
