Registration deadline nearing for Family Weekend

KALAMAZOO--Hundreds of parents and family members of new and returning Western Michigan University students will be in Kalamazoo to celebrate their campus involvement and share in the community spirit for WMU's 41st annual Family Weekend Friday through Sunday, Oct. 31-Nov. 2.

Highlights of the weekend include Halloween activities Friday; Classes without Quizzes, an interest expo session, pre-game tailgate buffet, and football game Saturday; and a new Sunday event, the Grab the Reins brunch. Events on campus and in surrounding communities will keep students and their family members entertained throughout the weekend.

Students and their families must register by Wednesday, Oct. 29, to attend Saturday's pre-game tailgate buffet or Sunday's Grab the Reins brunch.

Tickets for Saturday's tailgate are $12.75 for WMU students and adults, and $7.50 for children 12 and younger.

Tickets for Sunday's brunch are $7.75 per person.

Tickets may be picked up at the Family Weekend Welcome Desk in the Bernhard Center from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31, and 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1. Also available in the registration and welcome area will be: nametags, information packets, pre-ordered football tickets and WMU Family Connection discount cards.
