Annual Turkey Trot scheduledOct. 30, 2008 KALAMAZOO--The 45th annual Turkey Trot 5K race at Western Michigan University will take place Saturday, Nov. 22, with check-in and event-day registration beginning at 8 a.m. and the race beginning at about 9 a.m.
The non-certified Turkey Trot course winds around the campus and starts and ends at the Student Recreation Center Indoor Tennis Courts. Prizes will be awarded for both men and women in the following age categories: 14 and under, 15 to 19, 20 to 24, 25 to 29, 30 to 34, 35 to 39, 40 to 44, 45 to 49, 50 to 54, 55 to 59, and 60 and over. All runners will receive a T-shirt and be timed using chip technology provided by Great Lakes ChampionChip. Race participants and spectators are encouraged to bring canned foods or non-perishable items for donation to Loaves & Fishes of Kalamazoo.
