Engineering prof serving as international fellowDec. 12, 2008 KALAMAZOO--A Western Michigan University faculty member is one of only 11 people worldwide to be selected as a 2008 TAPPI Fellow. Dr. John Cameron, professor of paper engineering, chemical engineering and imaging, was selected for the distinction along with two other members of academia. TAPPI is an international association of pulp, paper, packaging and converting industry professionals. Less than 3 percent of the organization's membership has attained fellowship status. The designation is bestowed to individuals who have made extraordinary technical or service contributions to their industries or to TAPPI. Three other members of WMU's Department of Paper Engineering, Chemical Engineering and Imaging also have received the designation. They are Dr. Said Abubakr, professor and department chair; Dr. Margaret Joyce, professor; and Dr. Thomas W. Joyce, professor.
