Anvil rocks the Little Theatre

July 16, 2009

KALAMAZOO--Kalamazoo Film Society presents "Anvil! The Story of Anvil" Friday through Sunday, July 17-19, in the Little Theatre at Western Michigan University.

Show times are 7 and 9:30 p.m. Friday; 4:30, 7 and 9:30 p.m. Saturday; and 3, 5 and 7 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $5.

Steve "Lips" Kudlow and Robb Reiner, members of the seminal 1980s Canadian heavy-metal rock band, Anvil, are still making music. "Anvil" follows the men, now in their 50s, as they tour throughout Europe in a final attempt to fulfill their boyhood dreams. The documentary film paints a warm and humorous portrait of the two friends who plan to rock together forever, despite the many obstacles that stand in their way.

Directed by Sacha Gervasi, the 2008 film is shown in English. It has a run time of 90 minutes and is not rated.
