'Brothers Bloom' debuts at Little Theatre

Sept. 25, 2009

KALAMAZOO--Western Film Society presents "The Brothers Bloom," starring Adrien Brody and Mark Ruffalo, Friday through Sunday, Oct. 2-4, in the Little Theatre at Western Michigan University.

Show times for "The Brothers Bloom" are Friday and Saturday at 7 and 9:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2:30 and 5 p.m. General admission is $5 and $3 for students.

Brody and Ruffalo star as the seasoned con artists after which this film is named. After years of harebrained schemes, Bloom (Brody) tires of the family business, but his brother Stephen (Ruffalo) convinces him to take part in one final heist. The duo poses as antique dealers to swindle an eccentric heiress (played by Rachel Weisz), but things get problematic when Bloom falls for her.

Written and directed by Rian Johnson, the 2008 film is shown in English, French, Czech and Japanese with English subtitles. It has a run time of 113 minutes and is rated PG-13 for violence, sexual content and adult language.
