United Way celebration plannedNov. 5, 2009 KALAMAZOO--The Western Michigan University community is invited to join President John M. Dunn at a United Way victory celebration from 4 to 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, in the President's Dining Room of the Bernhard Center. Dunn will acknowledge those who have contributed to the success of this year's campaign, and light refreshments will be served. A grand-prize drawing will take place for those who have boosted their gifts by $50 since last year. WMU surpassed its $240,000 goal today. According to campaign directors, a total of $245,370 in gifts and pledges has been received from more than 1,500 WMU donors. Although this year's campaign has officially ended, the president's office will continue to collect donations of any amount. Employees and retirees who have not already turned in their pledge cards are encouraged to do so now. For information on making a gift, contact wmu-united-way@wmich.edu. WMU's campus drive is part of the Greater Kalamazoo United Way's $9.11 million overall campaign.
