Nov. 16, 2009

KALAMAZOO--Western Film Society presents the Kalamazoo-area debut of "Moon," starring Sam Rockwell, Friday through Sunday, Nov. 20-22, in the Little Theatre at Western Michigan University.

Show times for "Moon" are Friday and Saturday at 7 and 9:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2:30 and 5 p.m. General admission is $5 and $3 for students.

Sam Bell (Sam Rockwell) is an astronaut nearing the end of a three-year lunar mission. With only a robotic assistant named GERTY (voiced by Kevin Spacey) to keep him company, he is greatly looking forward to returning home to his family. But, with just two weeks left to go, Sam starts to see things he can't explain. Everything is soon turned upside down, when he finds a damaged lunar rover containing an injured duplicate of himself.

"Moon" is the feature film debut from director Duncan Jones, son of legendary recording artist David Bowie. The 2009 film is shown in English and has a run time of 97 minutes. It is rated R for adult language.
