Plenty of incentives for students to get to the game

KALAMAZOO--Western Michigan University students attending the Broncos' Nov. 24 football contest can get free food and win prizes, including airline tickets and $2,500 toward tuition.

Kickoff Tuesday is 7 p.m. for the Broncos versus Ball State at Waldo Stadium. The game will be carried live on ESPN2 and the Bronco Radio Network.

The first 2,000 students--WMU ID required--through Gate 2 will receive a ticket for entry to the Seeyle Center for a free buffet meal of brats, hot dogs, veggie burgers, chicken wings, pasta salad and more. Gate 2 opens at 5:15 p.m. and food will be served in the Seelye Center until 6:30.

Win prizes throughout the game

To be eligible for any of the following prizes, WMU students must register online by 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 23, and must be present in Waldo Stadium when the prize is awarded.

  • Cash prizes of up to $300 will be awarded for student-created signs welcoming ESPN2 to WMU and Kalamazoo. Winners will be identified at halftime.
  • Cash prizes of up to $100 will be awarded for every Bronco first down during the game.
  • Two round-trip airline tickets from Direct Air will be awarded to one student sometime during the game.
  • $2,500 toward WMU tuition will be awarded to one student during the fourth quarter. If the first student announced isn't present, another name will be drawn.
