Nearly 100 employers to attend Career FairJan. 21, 2010 KALAMAZOO--Western Michigan University's 32nd annual Career Fair will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, on campus in the Bernhard Center. The free event is open to the public, but tailored for WMU students and alumni. Organized by the University's Career and Student Employment Services, Career Fair 2010 is expected to attract more than 2,000 job candidates. Nearly 100 organizations have registered to participate. They will be recruiting for interns and college graduates, and some may conduct first-round interviews with select candidates on Friday, Feb. 5. The participating employers represent such diverse sectors as health care, engineering, government, insurance, non-profit, retail, transportation, hospitality and construction. Job seekers planning to attend should research employers in advance, dress professionally and bring copies of an updated resume. In lieu of submitting a paper resume, many employers will ask qualified candidates to complete an employment application on their organization's Web site. Greeting and assisting employers on fair day will be WMU student volunteers from Drive Safe Kalamazoo, the women's volleyball team and the Multicultural Emerging Leaders Program. A series of preparatory events for WMU students will be held prior to the fair. Career Fair 2010--prep events
