Milewski named top student supervisor
March 17, 2010
KALAMAZOO--Jennifer Milewski, an assistant director of admissions at Western Michigan University, has been selected as the University's 2009-10 Supervisor of the Year.
The annual honor was presented during a campus reception in conjunction with last month's Student Employment Appreciation Week.
Sponsored by the University's Career and Student Employment Services, it recognizes the uniqueness of the contributions that those who supervisor student workers make, as well as these supervisors' initiative, professionalism, reliability and work quality.
Milewski came to WMU in 2005 and recruits throughout the state, but especially in southwest Michigan. One of her major additional duties is to train and supervise some 100 student ambassadors, most of whom staff the Campus Visit and Telecounseling programs in the Office of Admissions.
Four of Milewski's student employees nominated her for Supervisor of the Year.
Prior to joining WMU's staff, Milewski was an admissions representative at Bryant and Stratton College in New York. She earned a bachelor's degree in communication from the State University of New York's University at Buffalo in 2004.
