Aug. 26, 2010
KALAMAZOO--More than 25,000 Western Michigan University students and other members of the community are expected to turn out Friday, Sept. 10, for the 30th annual Bronco Bash.
The event, which will run from 3 to 7 p.m. at Fountain Plaza near Miller Auditorium, is a huge celebration welcoming students back to campus and the city of Kalamazoo for the start of a new school year. It features games, music and nearly 400 booths, where students can peruse the wares of area merchants, pick up loads of free stuff, and get information about WMU departments, student organizations and local volunteer opportunities.
Five bands have been booked for this year's event, including headliner Matt Giraud, former "American Idol" finalist and WMU graduate, who will perform at 6 p.m.
