WMU hits United Way mark, plans celebrationNov. 16, 2010 KALAMAZOO--Members of the Western Michigan University community are invited to join President John M. Dunn as he marks the end of another successful campus United Way campaign.
The celebration will take place from 4 to 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 18, in Room 210 of the Bernhard Center. Dunn will acknowledge campaign organizers and contributors, and light refreshments will be served. A grand-prize drawing will take place for those who have increased their gift by $50 since last year. Prizes include:
WMU surpassed its $275,000 goal today. According to campaign directors, a total of $277,600 in gifts and pledges was received from more than 1,500 WMU donors. Although this year's campaign has officially ended, the president's office will continue to collect donations of any amount. For information on making a gift, contact wmu-united-way@wmich.edu. WMU's campus drive is part of the Greater Kalamazoo United Way's $9.05 million overall campaign.
