WMU offers soap and candle-making class
March 7, 2011
KALAMAZOO--Western Michigan University students and community members will gather Saturday, March 19, at the Gibbs House on WMU's Parkview Campus to learn how to make their own soaps and candles.
Open to the public free of charge, the soap and candle-making class begins at 2 p.m. Materials will be provided, but participants are welcome to bring scents, dyes and containers for candles and soaps, as well as old candles to be reused. Those attending should RSVP to email@example.com and wear aprons or old clothing that they do not mind getting dirty.
Gibbs House is located at 4503 Parkview Ave., just east of Drake Road and the WMU Soccer Complex. Parking is available in the driveways both east and west of the house.
The soap and candle-making class is sponsored by WMU's Office for Sustainability and the Naked Seed registered student organization. For more information, contact Michelle Tomasko, Office for Sustainability, at firstname.lastname@example.org or (248) 396 7913.
