Learn about careers in the life sciencesMarch 24, 2011 KALAMAZOO--Western Michigan University has scheduled its 2011 Life Sciences Opportunities Day for 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, in Room 209 of the Bernhard Center. The free event is not a traditional job fair. It is an opportunity for WMU students and recent alumni to connect and network with life sciences-related organizations and to discuss career options as well as learn about business and industry needs. Representatives from several regional employers will be on hand to describe science career paths and answer questions about summer jobs, internships and other employment opportunities. Among them will be Binder Park Zoo, Global Clinical Connection, Perrigo and Pfizer. Many of the participating employers will be hiring. Attendees are encouraged to dress professionally and bring copies of their up-to-date resumes. The day is being sponsored by Perrigo, the National Organization for the Professional Advancement of Black Chemists and Chemical Engineers, and WMU's Career and Student Employment Services.
