KALAMAZOO-- Emmy Award-winning comedian Vicki Lawrence unleashes her television personality Thelma Harper for "Vicki Lawrence and Mama: A Two-Woman Show" in a single performance at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 8, in Western Michigan University's Miller Auditorium.

First introduced on "The Carol Burnett Show," Lawrence's opinionated, elderly persona went on to star in "Mama's Family." "Vicki Lawrence and Mama: A Two-Woman Show" is a mixture of stand-up comedy, music and Lawrence's observations about life. The multi-talented entertainer is mostly known for her acting and comedic talents, but she also earned a gold record for the 1973 hit, "The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia."

In recognition of Mother's Day, the show is partnering with WMU's Fetzer Center to offer discounted brunch packages. Brunch begins at 1 p.m. Prices range from $45 to $53 and include a discounted ticket to "Vicki Lawrence and Mama: A Two-Woman Show."

"Vicki Lawrence and Mama: A Two-Woman Show" is part of the Lake Michigan Mailers Spotlight Series. Tickets are $33 and are available by calling (269) 387-2300 or (800) 228-9858, online at millerauditorium.com, or by visiting the Miller Auditorium Ticket Office. Groups of 20 or more can call (269) 387-2312 for special discounts.
