Tornado season in MichiganJune 24, 2010 The coming of July marks the end of tornado season in Michigan. But as Mark Schwerin reports, people still need to be prepared. (0:59/Schwerin/STD) April, May and June are recognized as tornado season in Michigan. But recent deaths from tornados all happened outside those months, says Dr. Robert Ruhf, a senior associate in the WMU Malinson Institute for Science Education and weather expert. Actualities: CUT ONE: Ruhf says that since 1882, more than 300 people have been killed by tornados in the state, mostly in April, May and June.
