Mission Statement

The current mission is to promote an academic culture of inclusiveness for all people at WMU in research, teaching, service and administrative work by:

1. focusing on issues involved in the recruitment and retention of women;
2. recognizing and encouraging the endeavors of women;
3. discussing special challenges that women face in the tenure and promotion process;
4. supporting the transition of qualified faculty members into administrative positions;
5. raising gender awareness among administrators, faculty members and students across campus.
