U.S. News & World Report ranks CHHS grad programs among the best
Social Work Professor Recognized for Teaching Excellence
Three are most highly ranked in Michigan
As in 2008, recent U.S. News and World Report graduate programrankings place six College of Health and Human Services programs among the top in the nation. This year, three of those six programs—occupational therapy (OT), physician assistant (PA) and speech-language pathology (SLP)—are in the top 50 and are the most highly ranked programs of their kind in Michigan. The doctoral program in audiology and master’s in rehabilitation counseling/teaching and social work are also highly ranked nationally.
Dean Earlie Washington celebrates these rankings and expresses congratulations and thanks to faculty, staff, students, alumni and friends, whose service and support are essential to creating and maintaining this excellence. “These distinctive rankings,” she states, “reflect an exceptional educational experience for students and outstanding contributions to the health and human services professions. The CHHS family can take pride in these accomplishments as we move toward a future of transformational teaching, research and service.” more-details
Congratulations to Dr. Linda Reeser, Professor and Bachelor of Social Work Coordinator with the School of Social Work, who has been selected to receive the 2011-12 College of Health and Human Services (CHHS) Teaching Excellence Award. She will be recognized at a CHHS event in the fall of 2012 and will receive a monetary award.
Dr. Resser’s nomination included multiple letters of support from students, faculty and community members. The overriding theme of the nomination and support was that Dr. Reeser has high standards for herself and her students, in whom she invests heavily, and that she is committed to community involvement. more
