Posted by WMU OIT Help Desk on January 27, 2006

The e-mail services for the University have been shutdown by administrators due to a large increase in spam. The mail servers are recieving multiple instances of one specific message and admins are currently doing testing in order to determine the effects of files included in the message. Time of restoration has not been determined at this point. --CLM The e-mail service is going to be started back up at 5:00pm. All incoming and outgoing will be operational at this time. We believe that the harmful e-mails are being stopped at the gateway, but please update your virus definitions to ensure you have the latest protection against any viruses. --DGL
