Students who believe they meet the scholarship criteria should apply for admission, request official transcripts (from all institutions attended) be sent to WMU's Office of Admissions, and submit the online scholarship application by the extended deadline of February 1, 2017.
The deadline to submit an application for this scholarship has passed. Applicants will be notified of scholarship decisions at the end of March 2017.
The WMU Board of Trustees recently voted to reduce nonresident tuition and required fees by 47%. With the dramatic tuition reduction, we have restructured all of our out-of-state scholarship practices for the fall 2017 entering class. Amounts listed below reflect the new, restructured amount.

Students can be considered for both of the above scholarships, but may receive only one award. Scholarships are awarded for four semesters (fall/spring) or until graduation requirements are met, whichever comes first. Awards will be disbursed starting with the fall 2017 semester and are subject to maintenance criteria. Scholarship recipients must be U.S. citizens (or legal residents) who are not Michigan residents. The Student Financial Aid and Scholarships Office is the resource for complete scholarship eligibility and maintenance guidelines as well as additional WMU scholarship opportunities. This information describes transfer scholarships to be awarded for 2017 entry only. Future years' scholarships will be determined annually and are subject to change.
Because of the Midwest Student Exchange Program, out-of-state aviation majors from Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota and Wisconsin are not eligible to receive the Transfer Non-Resident Gold Scholarships. MSEP students do not have a unique tuition rate, effective for new students entering in fall 2017.
