Care managers at Western Michigan University integrate health and psychological care with other needed services such as housing, direct in-home care, senior day centers, transportation and financial and legal planning for older adults. Once a comprehensive needs assessment has taken place, a care plan is developed, implemented and monitored closely to ensure proper care for your loved one. Our care management staff has extensive knowledge about the costs, quality, and availability of services in Kalamazoo County and have backgrounds in social work, gerontology and nursing.
Fees for services of care managers are typically billed privately. Care managers are not covered by Medicaid, Medicare or by most private health insurance policies. However, clients may be able to bill some services to their long-term care insurance.
* WMU employees are encouraged to inquire about WMU insurance coverage.
