Graduate certificate programs have specific course requirements but do not lead to a master’s degree. They often compliment a variety of graduate degrees. Certificate programs, with the exception of the Specialty Program in Alcohol and Drug Abuse, are not eligible for federal financial aid, though you may hold a graduate appointment (e.g. assistantship) within your certificate program. Course work in a certificate program is generally not applicable to a WMU graduate degree program, and departments may limit the transfer of non-degree hours to a degree program should you later be admitted. Please refer all questions about program requirements to your program’s coordinator.
When completing the application, you must select Degree Seeking-New Applicant for the Application Type.
