Undergraduate Student Applications

Begin the application process by selecting the option below that's right for you.


If you are a current high school student, an early/middle college student, a high school graduate or you completed the GED and you have not attended college since graduating from high school, complete the freshman application.


If you have graduated from high school or completed the GED, are currently enrolled in a college or have completed one or more semesters of college, complete the transfer application.


If you previously attended WMU, complete the returning student application.


If you have not completed a bachelor's degree and are not planning to pursue credit toward the degree but want to take classes, complete the non-degree application. If you have earned a bachelor's degree and are not planning to pursue a degree program, visit this page for more information

If you wish to participate in a certificate program or have completed a bachelor’s degree but wish to add a second major or minor, complete this application.

Initial teacher certification for post-baccalaureates

If you have already earned a bachelor degree (or higher) and you are interested in obtaining teacher certification, application information is available on the College of Education and Human Development website.

Senior citizens' opportunity program in education

If you are 62 years of age or older and are interested in taking classes for non-credit, complete the SCOPE application.

Second bachelor's degree

If you already have a bachelor’s degree and you wish to obtain a second bachelor’s degree, complete the second bachelor degree application.

Guest student

Undergraduate students who are currently attending other colleges or universities may apply for guest student status at WMU.

High school dual enrollment

High school students who have demonstrated the potential for success in college and have the approval of their high school principal are invited to enroll in WMU classes.
