Clockwork: Another Passage

Vicky Randall

Sarasota, Fla.

Medium: Stainless steel
Dimensions: 10'5" x 8' x 4'

Art is communication and my language is sculpture. I make "Clockworks" in steel. To express my vision of time, I manipulate three dimensional forms, choreographing, movement, structure, form, light and sound. It is my way of recording a dimensional segment where one hour can last a second or a day.

As an artist, I concentrate on developing a personal visual dialogue. As I strive for simplicity, I demand harmony between the landscape and cityscape in my forms. Since my work is site-specific all the elements are considered when developing a concept. My artistic motivation is that of an inventor, coupled with a desire for aesthetic beauty.
