As the Gwen Frostic School of Art Student Exhibition juror, Lauren will meet directly with students and faculty and answer questions about the process of jurying the exhibition.
Lauren Rosati is a Brooklyn-based curator and writer who has worked with composers, curators, artists and writers on international projects. She currently is curatorial assistant in modern and contemporary art at the National Academy Museum, a Ph.D. student in art history at the Graduate Center, CUNY and executive director/co-curator of ((audience)), a New York-based non-profit that provides wide distribution and new contexts for works by emerging and established sound artists and composers. She is also a member of the advisory committee for Art21's "New York Close-Up" and was the assistant curator of Exit Art from 2007 to 2012.
Rosati has organized exhibitions and events at the Tank, Chashama, Walter Reade Theater/Film Society of Lincoln Center, Spectacle Theater, the Red House Arts Center, Ramiken Crucible, and Union Docs, among other venues, and has lectured at Brown University, the School of Visual Arts, the Goethe Institut/Wyoming Building, University of Massachusetts, Amherst, CAA/Art Chicago, Residency Unlimited, and the Southeast College Art Conference in Savannah, Ga. and Durham, N.C..
