Visiting Designer: Blake Almstead

Blake Almstead has been leading Design and Digital User Experience projects for nearly a decade. In his role, Blake is responsible for design strategy, digital brand innovation, concept to delivery of application design and integrated marketing efforts. Working with clients, Blake helps define the blend of design and technology roadmaps that deliver to our customers’ business goals while also overseeing the teams to ensure the high quality of the solutions that we offer.

Blake approaches the design and customer experience with a balance of creativity and innovation that is firmly grounded in strategic and economic fundamentals. He has a deep career path in the technology sector – building brands, product experiences and customer relationships across a number of established and start-up technology brands, including American Greetings, Dole Fresh Fruit, GM and OnStar. Blake has helped new brands define and implement a vision to foster within high-growth, emerging tech segments – such as mobile, Bluetooth, GPS and automotive connectivity. Through his efforts in User Experience, Mobile and Infotainment, Blake has helped create new digital experiences, new ways of connecting with customers and products that strengthen a brand.

Blake earned an MFA in Graphic Design from Cranbrook Academy of Art and received his BFA in Graphic Design from Maine College of Art. He also is an adjunct college professor of Graphic Design and Design History at Lawrence Technological University and The College of Creative Studies.
