Bio: 

Shejal Soumen is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Biological Sciences at Western Michigan University. Her supervising professor is Dr. Jian Yao and her areas of study are plant biology and molecular genetics. Her doctoral research involves examining the effect of Polyfluoroalkyl Substances on plant growth and development, using Arabidopsis thaliana as a model.
