Alycia completed degrees in Music Therapy and Psychology at Wartburg College. From there, she completed her internship at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, MO where she worked on multiple floors including the burn unit and rehab. She then completed a M.M., Music Therapy at Western Michigan University where her thesis explored music-evoked autobiographical memories (MEAMs) in relation to nostalgia and electrodermal activity. Alycia is currently a doctoral student in the Evaluation, Measurement, and Research program at Western Michigan University, learning how to be a methodologist. She has completed training in quantitative design, qualitative design, mixed methods, survey methods, advanced statistics, evaluation theory, and measurement theory. Alycia’s interests include advancing the field of music therapy through research design, evaluation, and measurement.
