Brookton N. Behm

Brookton Behm is the national practice leader of Crowe’s Financial Crime Risk Practice, overseeing a team of professionals that helps financial institutions comply with global anti-money laundering, economic sanctions and anti-bribery/anti-corruption regulations. His team provides independent review, audit, advisory, consulting, validation, optimization and technology implementation to some of the world’s largest financial services organizations.
Behm specializes in leading complex regulatory compliance remediation projects for financial institutions. His responsibilities include running some of Crowe’s largest projects, advising his clients on remediating regulatory enforcement actions, implementing and validating anti-money laundering systems, and authoring thought leadership and developing innovative solutions to assist clients. He is also the dean of the College of Governance, Risk and Compliance within Crowe Horwath University—the firm’s structure for its overall learning programs. Outside of Crowe, Behm is the treasurer of the Grand Rapids Student Advancement Foundation, an independent nonprofit organization that serves as the strategic fundraising partner of the Grand Rapids Public Schools.
Prior to his current role, Behm managed and implemented process improvement, technology solutions and organizational change at numerous Fortune 500 companies.
Behm earned his B.B.A., summa cum laude, in integrated supply management from Western Michigan University. He is currently a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist and a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors.
