As a sophomore at WMU’s Haworth College of Business, Matthew Mace co-founded BlueGranite with a group of local entrepreneurs. As CEO, Mace has helped the company through two major transitions and growth stages—the latest growth stage earning BlueGranite a spot on the Inc. 5,000 for 2014, which lists the country’s top 5,000 fastest-growing private companies.
BlueGranite’s focus is on providing business analytics solutions to clients across the U.S., helping them build competitive advantages and increase profits by making better, faster decisions with their data. Solutions range from executive dashboards and strategic scorecards, to line-of-business reporting and big data solutions that focus on high-volume and complex data sources. The firm works with dozens of Fortune 500 clients in a variety of industries.
Mace was selected as one of the Top 40 Business Leaders Under 40 for West Michigan and is a WMU Department of Business Information Systems Outstanding Alumni Award recipient. He completed his MBA at the Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan in 2008.
Mace has been actively engaged with WMU and the Haworth College of Business. He served as a board member and chair for the Business Information Systems Advisory Board and also served on the Haworth College of Business Advisory Council. Today he is an advisory board member for the WMU Starting Gate student business accelerator.
Mace is active in the Kalamazoo start-up community, serving as a past judge and sponsor of Kalamazoo Startup Weekend and a sponsor of StartupZoo.
