Kristina L. Sabatos, B.B.A.’00
Young Alumni Award 2013
As WMU’s first integrated supply management student to intern at John Deere, Kristy Sabatos was offered a full-time position upon graduation from the program in 2000. She later received her MBA from the University of Iowa and has since progressed through various positions in supply chain management, strategic and workforce planning and program management.
As the program manager for Crawlers in John Deere’s construction and forestry division, Sabatos is responsible for developing the global portfolio strategy and execution of new product programs for all crawler loaders and dozers at the John Deere Dubuque Works factory.
Through the years, Sabatos has been actively engaged with the ISM Advisory Council and served as John Deere’s functional school representative for WMU. The company, which has been part of the WMU Business Externship Program as a way of helping students discover what a career at Deere entails, works hard to connect with top talent early and enable students to take on meaningful work experiences during their educational years. Their involvement on campus through internship opportunities promotes personal and professional growth and helps students launch their careers, even before graduation.
In keeping with her commitment to serve the community, Sabatos is actively involved with the Hazel Green Fire Auxiliary and instructs in the classroom for junior achievement. She is also an active member on the steering committee for ONE Dubuque, an initiative to promote an inclusive community.
