Beta Alpha Psi, an honorary for students in the financial and accounting fields, recently put its members’ skills to use in helping improve the financial literacy of 7th and 8th grade students in area public schools. The Annual Food Marketing Conference is just around the corner. This year's conference focuses on "Moving the Metrics on Performance" and is scheduled for March 25 and 26. Building Strong Relationships

After graduation, Sean Baker, B.B.A.’11, landed a position at Command Transportation as a national account executive in the carrier sales division, a position that requires him to develop relationships to garner new business, provide customer service and creatively solve problems. But his interest in forging strong relationships and partnerships doesn’t end there – Baker is a key member of several community outreach initiatives.

Save the Date—Business and Government Institute

On April 23, the college will host a Business and Government Institute, offering business executives valuable strategies and tools to further efforts to shape state policy and regulations related to their industries.

Top lobbyists in Lansing and key legislative leaders will offer insights into effecting change at the state level. Also, business leaders will share Register todaytheir stories of success in shaping policy on behalf of their industries.

Students Win at Michigan Clean Energy Venture Challenge

For the second consecutive year, WMU students have cleaned up at the Clean Energy Venture Challenge, held in Ann Arbor, for their projects PowerSlim, Reuse-e and and e-rescue. The competition awards students money for taking their idea from venture to launch in six months. Read about the award
