A Look at Miller Auditorium

Two marketing leaders from Miller Auditorium will be the next presenters as the 2013-14 Keystone Community Bank Breakfast Speaker Series continues. Tracey Lawie, director of marketing and development, and Bethany Gauthier, assistant director of marketing, will present “A Closer Look at Miller Auditorium,” on Friday, April 25, at 8 a.m. in 2150 Schneider.

PITCH Winners

Aspiring entrepreneurs with innovative business ideas filled the Starting Gate business accelerator as the final round of the 2014 WMU business pitch competition concluded on Saturday, April 5. MBA student Rosie Hall and her husband Jeff earned first place and $1,500 to fund their business Dolly Xtractor, a tool for dolly users that allows for faster, more efficient work with frequent use.

Inspiring Future Accountants

Inspiring and educating the next generation of young accountants—that was the goal and the outcome of the recent Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants High School Leaders Conference, held in partnership with WMU’s Department of Accountancy. The conference saw record-breaking attendance with more than 150 high school students from 12 area schools participating.
