  • Western Michigan University's Ph.D. program in counseling psychology has been accredited by the American Psychological Association since the initial accreditation in 1993.

  • WMU's Ph.D. program in counselor education and supervision is CACREP Accredited. The M.A. programs in counselor education in clinical mental health counseling; college counseling; marriage, couple and family counseling; school counseling; and rehabilitation counseling are CACREP Accredited.
  • WMU's rehabilitation counseling program (suspended) is offered as a joint program in rehabilitation counseling/teaching (specialization in blindness and low vision).

  • Two on-site low-cost clinics, one in Kalamazoo and one in Grand Rapids, provide a variety of counseling services and serve as primary training facilities for master’s and doctoral level students.
