Sojeong Nam, Ph.D., NCC joined the Department of Counselor Education and Counseling Psychology in Fall 2021. Dr. Nam earned her doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision and a master’s degree in Educational Measurement and Statistics from The University of Iowa in 2021, a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Columbia University in 2015, and a bachelor of arts in Psychology and International Studies with a minor in Spanish from The University of Iowa in 2012. Her research projects and interests address mental health disparities, stigma and help-seeking among underserved populations, multicultural and social justice counselor education, interventions for depression and suicidality in youth, and psychometric properties of assessment tools in counseling and counselor education.
