Bio: 

Dr. Naneh Apkarian is a post-doctoral research associate of Western Michigan University, at the Center for Research on Instructional Change in Postsecondary Education. Her research interests focus on improving postsecondary STEM education through institutional transformation. She has been part of several mixed-methods national studies of precalculus and calculus education, utilizing quantitative and qualitative methods to produce national portraits and in-depth case studies. Additionally, she has conducted studies of undergraduate mathematics classrooms to better understand individual and collective learning processes. At WMU, Dr. Apkarian is part of the NSF-funded “Evaluating the Uptake of Research-Based Instructional Strategies in Undergraduate Chemistry, Mathematics, & Physics.”
