Kalamazoo Mixed-Use Incubator

  • Launch meeting for Kalamazoo Mixed-Use Incubator

Initial meeting held on February 2, 2017, hosted by the City of Kalamazoo and WMU.

In early 2017, Western Michigan University formed a partnership with the City of Kalamazoo to create a collaborative space in downtown Kalamazoo where individuals can receive assistance and resources to start businesses. Review the Kalamazoo Mixed-Use Incubator Proposal.

On February 2, 2017, an information session regarding collaborative development of a mixed-use incubator in downtown Kalamazoo attracted about 65 people representing a broad range of individuals, businesses and organizations to WMU's Fetzer Center. Many attendees signed on to support the initiative going forward. A second meeting was held Wednesday, April 19, and a steering committee was formed to move the initiative forward. The meetings were hosted by Kalamazoo's Office of Economic Development and WMU's Office of Community Outreach.

Community members are welcome to attend and join the initiative. For more information, send a message via the Contact Us form.
