Maria E. Gigante

Dr. Maria E. Gigante is an associate professor of English. Her research has focused on current and historical cases of visual communication between scientific communities and non-expert public audiences. These topics are explored in her book, Introducing Science Through Images, which was published in 2018 by The University of South Carolina Press. Additionally, her work is published in Rhetoric Review, the Journal of Technical Writing and Communication, The Bulletin of Science, Technology & Society, and other journals. She has developed and taught courses in visual rhetoric, writing in the sciences, and writing for social media.
