Program Overview

This program prepares highly-qualified information systems professionals, engineers, and computer science experts for careers in information security. The WMU program is designed to fill the need for information security and assurance professionals to support the nation’s information infrastructure.

As a science and technology leader, our program requires students to be creators of knowledge and inventors of processes, not simply users of information. Students are taught through interactive learning situations and problem-based projects. Team-based projects address security implementation and processes which today’s business environment requires.

Why Our Program?

WMU’s information security graduate certificate is 100 percent online and offers two 10-month tracks: secure software and engineering or information security management:

  • 15-credit graduate certificate, or
  • 30-credit graduate degree in information security

The information security graduate certificate offers two 10-month tracks: secure software and engineering or information security management.
