OFD Faculty Fellows 2021-22
The Office of Faculty Development (OFD) is seeking applications and nominations for two Faculty Fellow positions for the 2021-22 Academic Year.
For the upcoming year, OFD is particularly interested in fellows who can develop and implement programming in the following areas:
Creating and Sustaining Inclusive Communities
This fellow will work to develop intentional spaces, both virtual and physical, for WMU educators to network and connect around issues that are relevant to them, and particularly in ways that support the university’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. This fellow will also build and expand upon OFD programming to take a more intentional approach to supporting BIPOC faculty at WMU.
As part of WMUx, OFD serves as a laboratory for learning innovation and provides transformational institutional leadership to develop highly effective teaching and learning experiences in all modalities and for all learners. This fellow will work with OFD and the instructional support team to develop and implement programming specifically related to supporting the creation of innovative learning experiences across multiple platforms and modalities.
The fellows will be expected to work collaboratively with the Director and current staff of the Office of Faculty Development, the WMUx instructional design and support team, and various other constituents across campus. The faculty selected for these positions will be provided with a one-course buy-out at part time rates in each academic semester (Fall 2021 and Spring 2022) and a 5.5% non-teaching stipend for one summer session.
Complete applications should include a current vita, and a brief letter of interest that clearly addresses the candidate’s qualifications and interest for the position, and a letter of support from the applicant’s chair or director. Applications should also clearly communicate the candidates intended area(s) of focus in one or both of the areas described above.
