Western Michigan University is proud to announce that completing financial aid requirements will now be offered online, with secure document upload from any device and e-sign capabilities!

WMU’s Student Financial Aid office is introducing a new easy, mobile, personalized process that makes everything about navigating financial aid easier.

Why is the process changing?
Providing the best student experience is important to us, and soon students will be able to:

  • Complete financial aid forms on their phone, tablet or computer.
  • Securely upload documents from any device.
  • E-sign documents – both students and parents.
  • Manage financial aid requirements online.
  • Receive automated reminders about outstanding requirements and next steps.

Current Students

Current WMU students are already part-way through our existing process and to make the transition easier, we encourage students to complete all financial aid requirements BEFORE the new process is implemented. 

Current students will be receiving an email regarding this change and if requirements are needed, we ask them to be submitted before Friday, Nov. 15, 2019.

If students are unable to supply the required documentation before Nov. 15, students will receive an additional email on how to complete financial aid requirements through the new process. 

Soon, our forms webpage will be updated with new information for completing future forms. 

Confirming Student Information

When the new process is implemented, students will receive an email on how to confirm their student information. 

A one-time confirmation is used to validate students identity so electronic signatures can be used on future forms. Soon, students will be able to verify their account by visiting wmich.verifymyfafsa.com. Students will be asked to enter their Bronco NetID and password, accept the privacy policy and confirm student information. 

If the information they are verifying does not match the information provided on their FAFSA, their account cannot be verified. Questions can be directed to Bronco Express at (269) 387-6000.
