Finance and personal financial planning majors at Western Michigan University can earn credit for approved student internships. The following is a list of requirements that must be met and a list of companies where students have served as interns in recent years.


To be approved, an internship must:

  • Provide you with relevant experience in the specialty area of that specific internship.
  • Expose you to a variety of tasks or projects.
  • Be approved and monitored by a faculty advisor.
  • Last for the equivalent of one full semester.
  • Require at least 75 hours of work for each credit hour earned.
