Veteran grocery industry trade journalist and editor Meg Major oversees the content and editorial strategy for Winsight Grocery Business, the premiere source of business information, inspiration and ideation for retail decision-makers. Major is responsible for leading and evolving WGB’s overall content strategy and operations, including its monthly print magazine, website, newsletters, multimedia platforms and events. With more than 25 years of experience covering the U.S. grocery industry, she is a nationally known expert and is regarded as one of the most trusted and influential retail food industry authorities.

Prior to joining the Chicago-based Winsight Media in 2017, Major was previously with Progressive Grocer, where she evolved in positions of increasing responsibility, including fresh food editor, editor-in-chief and editorial director. Major began her career as a member of the communications team at the Pennsylvania Food Merchants Association, followed by a role as editor-in-chief of Philadelphia-based Food Trade News.

A native of Pittsburgh, Major holds a B.A. in journalism from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and is an active member of her community, with a special interest in anti-hunger initiatives.
