Zwanka teaches category management and retail merchandising, and has previously taught marketing research, personal selling, marketing strategy, marketing principles, sales management, and advanced concepts in food marketing.
Serving as the chair of the Food Industry University Coalition, Zwanka works with other universities teaching food marketing to help educate the future of the food industry, and share practical food industry research with retailers and consumer goods companies. Zwanka's 22 books can be found in over 40 countries across the globe, and range in topics from category management, food nutrition, walking a food store, public speaking, and how to do business in Cuba. Additionally, Zwanka has led the merchandising, marketing, advertising, procurement and all customer engagement areas for multiple food retail companies domestically and internationally, including serving as executive vice president of merchandising and marketing at The North West Company (Winnipeg, Canada), senior vice president of merchandising and marketing at Price Chopper (Albany, NY), and vice president of merchandising at Bozzuto’s Inc. (Cheshire, CT).
Zwanka holds a Doctorate of Business Administration from the International School of Management in Paris; a Master of Science in Management from Southern Wesleyan University; and a Bachelor of Science from the University of South Carolina.
