Western Michigan University has entered into an agreement with Google Inc. to provide the Google Apps service to all WMU students, faculty and staff. Use of Google's services is governed by University policies and students and employees are obligated to abide by these Rules, Regulations and Policies while affiliated with the University. Use of IT resources provided to the University under a contract with an external provider such as this is also subject to the terms and conditions of the contract with the provider.
Core Apps (between WMU and Google)
Core Apps are those apps covered by Western Michigan University's existing Google Apps terms of service.
Consumer Apps (between you and Google)
Several Consumer Apps have been enabled for use with your WMU account. These Consumer Apps are governed by a contract between you and Google.
Important notes about Consumer Apps
Enabling Consumer Apps requires you to agree to a Consumer Apps Terms of Service agreement the first time you log in to your Google Apps account, regardless of whether or not you are going to use any of the Consumer Apps.
You must accept this one-time agreement in order to continue to access any part of your Google Apps account. Also, Google requires that all users of the Google+ Consumer App be at least 13 years old, so carefully enter your birthday when prompted. Failure to provide a birth date that indicates you are at least 13 years old will lock you out of your entire Google account. The value of enabling Consumer Apps is that you can then use your Bronco NetID when you need to use any consumer apps for work or school-related purposes.
