Zanovia Tucker, a native of Chicago, IL., is a third-year doctoral student in the counselor education and supervision program at Western Michigan University. She is a licensed professional counselor in the state of Illinois and a national certified counselor.  She has obtained both her Bachelor’s degree, in psychology ‘11, and Master’s degree, in clinical mental health ‘15, from Chicago State University. Tucker is currently a king/Chavez/parks future faculty fellow at WMU as well as a teaching assistant in the department of counselor education and supervision. Her current research involves exploring the lived experiences of African-American counselors through the framework of shared trauma. In the future, she hopes to challenge the public policy regarding African-American education and mental wellness. Tucker likes to travel, explore different ethnic foods, and relax.
