2FA Device Management Portal

The Duo Device Management Portal allows you to reactivate Duo Mobile if you have replaced your primary 2FA device as well as add an additional 2FA device to use as a backup if your primary device is unavailable.

Step 1: log in to the Duo device management portal

  1. To access the Duo Device Management portal, log in to any 2FA-enabled service, such as GoWMU or the VPN.
  2. When the Duo prompt displays, select Settings at the top followed by My Settings & Devices.
  3. You will need to authenticate with a second factor before you can manage your settings using one of the options below:
  • If you have lost or replaced your device but have the same phone number, select Enter a Passcode and then click Text me new codes. You will receive a text message with Duo passcodes, enter the first passcode in the box and click Log In. Once logged in, we recommend that you Reactivate Duo Mobile.
  • If you have an additional 2FA-registered device available, click Send Me a Push and then approve the request on your device.
  • If you have changed your phone number and you do not have an additional device configured on your account, you will need to contact the Help Desk for assistance. The Technology Help Desk can be reached at (269) 387-4357.

Step 2: Select an action

Replaced Your Device? Reactivate Duo Mobile

If you replace your device, you will need to reactivate Duo Mobile to begin receiving Duo push notifications again. 

  1. Install Duo Mobile by Duo Security (if not already installed).
  2. Log in to the Duo Device Management portal using the instructions above.
  3. Click the Settings icon next to the device that needs to be reactivated.
  4. Click Reactivate Duo Mobile.
  5. Verify the phone type and click Continue.
  6. Open Duo Mobile, tap the + icon and scan the QR code on the screen. 
  7. Duo Mobile is now reactivated.

Add an Additional 2FA Device

You can add an additional 2FA device, such as a tablet, if you would like a backup in case your primary 2FA device is unavailable. You will need your primary 2FA device with you to complete the following steps:

  1. Log in to the Duo Device Management portal using the instructions above.
  2. Click Add another device.
  3. Choose Mobile Phone or Tablet when asked which type of device you are adding. Click Continue.
  4. Select your country from the drop-down list and type your phone number. Use the number of your smartphone that you would like to use for two-factor authentication. If you're registering a tablet you will not be prompted to enter a phone number. Click Continue
  5. Choose your device's operating system and click Continue.
  6. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the Duo Mobile app on your new device and then select I have Duo Mobile.
  7. Follow the on-screen instructions to activate Duo mobile on your new device, either by scanning the barcode on the screen (when completing the instructions on a computer) or by tapping the Take me to Duo Mobile button (if completing the instructions on the smartphone or tablet that you are enrolling).
  8. Your device is now activated. When you are prompted for 2FA, you will now see a drop-down menu which will allow you to select a 2FA approval device.

Within the Device Management Portal, you also have the option to change your Default 2FA Device as well as change device names so your devices are easier to identify
