Windows Update Delivery Optimization allows other networked devices to download Windows updates and Windows Store apps from your devices. This can help others get updates and apps more quickly, but may negatively impact your network performance. If you are connecting your device to Western Michigan University's network, we recommend that you disable this feature.
Disable Windows Update Delivery Optimization
Go to Start (the windows logo), then Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update, and then select Advanced options.
On the Advanced options page, select Choose how updates are delivered, and then use the toggle to turn Delivery Optimization off. When turned off, you'll still get updates and apps from Windows Update and from the Windows Store.
